Recently I worked alongside Avery & Brown to build a lightweight landing page for one of their clients. Jonathan Berry, a co-founder and managing director of a B Corp environmental consultancy, wanted to explore and amplify acts of kindness to both people and planet.
Giving kindness a space on the web
After some time working on this social experiment, it was time for Jon to expand and put a brand look and feel behind the actions of kindness. Avery & Brown produced the lovely brand, with the focus on people, planet and a nod to the shipping forecast – an initial inspiration from Jon.
Wanting to improve the presence of the experiment, Jon was also looking for a website. Avery & Brown brought me in to create the landing page, based on the branding and supplied content.
With inspiration from the brand guidelines, and assets provided, I created the layout for the WordPress-based landing page. The website is lightweight and sustainably hosted with renewable energy in the UK. With the use of WordPress in the build, it could easily be expanded on in the future.
With a initial page weight of only 190KB, and producing just 0.05g per page visit, the website is also kind to the planet.
